Are You A Car Salesperson? If So, Try These Social Media Techniques

In this day and age, establishing a strong social media presence is a necessity. If you sell cars, social media can provide you with an opportunity to network like never before. Not only can your social media accounts help you stay connected with current customers but they can also help you reach new customers. Although it may seem challenging to get your social media accounts up and running, once you have them set up, you will wonder how you ever got along without them. Before you know it, you will be generating leads and making sales through your social media accounts.

All that it takes to get started with social media is time. Take a look at your schedule and see if you have a few minutes here or there that you can use to start setting up your accounts. It is worth finding time in your schedule when you consider just how many people you can reach.

For instance, imagine that you make 200 contacts through your social media accounts. If each of those contacts also has 200 contacts, that means that you can potentially reach 40,000 people. Chances are, at least a few of those people are going to be in the market for a new car. In essence, social media provides you with a practically unlimited supply of prospective customers. The sooner you get started with your social media accounts, the sooner you will start making sales. Here are five tips to help you get up and running:

1. Set up a profile on Facebook. Even if you already have a personal profile on Facebook, you should set one up that is specifically geared toward your business. The sign-up process is quick and easy. Once your account is open, you can then start adding information to your page. Be sure to keep all of your content as professional as possible.

2. Identify what you hope to accomplish. Think about the types of people that you want to engage with. What kind of content can you post that would reach that particular audience? Consider setting up a schedule for how often you will post. This can help keep you on track as you grow your profile. You may also want to set a goal for the number of contacts that you want to generate. It goes without saying that you can find followers online. Don't forget about the people that you interact with in real life as well, however. Anytime you make a connection with the customer, ask them if they are on Facebook. If so, give them the address of your Facebook page so that they can "like" it.

3. Add interesting content to your profile. Don't make the mistake of only posting advertisements. Instead, post interesting content that will encourage your followers to engage. You don't have to create the content yourself. You can always share interesting videos or relevant blog posts that your customers may enjoy. You can pepper an occasional advertisement in among all of this content. Just don't go overboard or you will drive your followers away.

4. Get started. Once you have a plan in place, it is time to take action. You should set up a posting schedule that is frequent enough that people remember you but not so frequent that you annoy them. Typically, once a day is plenty. By keeping your account active, you stand a much better chance of having your followers see your content. One good way to get people interested is to buy Instagram likes for your post – this makes people think it's more popular than it is and entices them to follow.

5. Track the results. Use some of the many tracking tools that are out there to analyze which of your posts are getting the best response rate from your followers. This can help you better determine what type of content they want to see. As you gather more information, you can then start fine-tuning your posts so that they are more in line with the type of content that your fans want.

Like most things in life, the hardest part of getting started with social media is taking action. Don't get stuck in the planning phase. Instead, put together a solid plan and then do something about it. Selling cars through social media is a lot easier than you might think. It is just a matter of setting up your account and fine-tuning your posts over time.
